SLCPD Releases Photos from Ballpark Neighborhood Commercial FireSALT LAKE CITY — Today, the Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) released photos from a three-alarm commercial fire in the Ballpark Neighborhood. The SLCPD’s response to this incident began at 7:27 a.m. when the Salt Lake City Fire Department (SLCFD) requested traffic control at 1518 South Main Street for a large commercial fire. To facilitate safe operations and resource staging for SLCFD, officers and specialists from the SLCPD’s Police Community Response Team (PCRT) responded and shut down all traffic, including pedestrian traffic, on Main Street in between East Cleveland Avenue and East Byran Avenue. The SLCPD’s Drone Unit also responded to assist with the incident commander with a real-time downlink showing the fire behavior. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the SLCFD. There are no known reported injuries. The SLCPD’s Public Relations Unit coordinated with the SLCFD Public Information Officer (PIO) to release verified information on the SLCPD’s X page.
