Real Time Crime Center

The goal of the Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) is to provide real time situational awareness to officers responding to calls by leveraging available technology.

CAN

Target criminal activity occurring in Hot Spots and High Crime areas.

WILL

Primarily be used for active priority 1 and 2 calls.

WILL

Assist in case follow-ups.

The RTCC will use Axon Fusus to coordinate many different technologies into one platform.

  • Body Cameras
  • Trailer Cameras
  • Overt Cameras
  • Drones   (Click to read about the Drone Program)
  • License Plate Readers
  • Business Surveillance Cameras if owner opts in - the owner retains the ability to control if and when police have access.

  What the RTCC is not:

  • Cameras are not constantly monitored
  • No ability to integrate with facial recognition
  • No ability to connect with residential cameras (i.e. Ring/Nest)
  • Drones will not be used as proactive patrol
  • Drones will not be used to monitor First Amendment protected activities, but can assist with crowd management and criminal behavior at public gatherings.
All aspects of the Real Time Crime Center including the use of drones and license plate readers are strictly regulated by privacy laws at the state and federal level.
