Increase in Vandalism: Graffiti
January 5, 2012Vehicle Thefts
January 17, 2012Hello everyone. I hope the new year finds you well. I wanted to give you a heads up in regard to current crosswalk enforcement in the district. The SLCPD is ever constant in enforcing crosswalk laws to help keep the public safe. Some tips to remember are:
- Pedestrians ALWAYS have the right of way in a crosswalk.
- If the cars near you are stopped for a crosswalk, you should too. There may be someone in the crossing you cannot see.
- Higher fines are issued for violating crosswalk laws when the pedestrians are in a wheelchair/mobility device or when they are carrying an orange safety flag.
- Even though as a pedestrian you have the right of way, make sure vehicles are able to see you. A good tip is to make eye contact with any driver approaching the crosswalk.
Please keep these things in mind as you travel through the city either on foot or in a vehicle.
