Last night the East Bench Community Council had a spirited 2 hour meeting.  The main agenda item was a discussion regarding the City’s proposed test on Sunnyside Ave.

Salt Lake City is currently collecting traffic data on Sunnyside and neighboring streets.  Prior to a previously scheduled road resurfacing project in July, there will be a traffic testing period.

The test will first eliminate a westbound vehicle travel lane on Sunnyside from Foothill to 1300 East. The west bound bicycle lane will be expanded.

Additional testing will close an east bound vehicle travel lane while expanding that bike lane.

Data will be collected and then a decision made prior to resurfacing the roadway in July.
