Second Academy Class in four months

January 4, 2013 — Salt Lake City Police Chief Chris Burbank officially welcomes the 13 members of Recruit Class #131, the Department’s second Academy class in four months, Monday morning at 7:30 a.m.

The Salt Lake City Police Department hosts an in-house Academy that is certified by the Utah Department of Public Safety’s Peace Officer Standards & Training. Monday’s 30-minute ceremony marks the beginning of 21 weeks of intensive training for the recruits, including two firefighters seeking dual certification for their duties in the Salt Lake City Fire Marshal’s Office.
