$5,000 in scholarships, prizes awarded 

April 17, 2013 — The Salt Lake City Police Department concluded its annual Student Art Contest this afternoon, with top honors going to students from Highland High School.

Thank you to 93 students who entered this year’s contest and congratulations to the following entries that earned awards:

• Jace Anderson, Highland High School: $2,500 scholarship and a MacBook Air laptop

• Anamika Blomgren, Highland High School: $2,500 scholarship and a MacBook Air laptop

• Morgan Birch, East High School: iPad

• Chris McConkie, West High School: iPad

• Carlie Brown, Highland High School: iPad Mini

• Rick Schmidt, Highland High School: iPad Mini

• Casie Lambert, West High School: Nikon camera

• Truong Tham, West High School: Nikon camera

This year’s contest culminated in an art exhibit of the top 25 entries at the main City Library. The winning entries will be adapted for use in a public awareness campaign about the consequences of drug use and abuse, which will be showcased between regularly scheduled features at the Broadway Centre Theatre in Salt Lake City over the course of the next year.
