Posted: August 20, 2013 — As children head back to class this week, police officers will raise public safety awareness with a honk-and-wave Wednesday morning near Jackson Elementary.

Officers from the Community Intelligence and Public Relations Unit will be out in force along the walking routes to Jackson and other grade schools as a reminder to motorists to slow down around children walking to and from school, as well as to remind children that officers and other trusted adults are there to help them.
