SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department’s Evidence Unit has items which have been taken into custody that will be donated, destroyed or otherwise eliminated effective September 23, 2013.  These items include the following:

Backpacks, luggage, bags, purses, wallets, bags, briefcase, clothing, pocketbook, bedding, sleeping bags, miscellaneous personal items, credentials (social security cards, IDs, DLs, credit and debit cards, passport, etc.), guns, holster, BB gun, pellet gun, knives,  money, jewelry, cell phones with accessories, eye/sunglasses, golf bag, computers with accessories, keys, hand and power tools, bikes,  skateboard, bike parts,  DVD/CDs, miscellaneous papers (birth certificates, photos, letters, etc.) hubcap, amplifier, car stereo, mp3 player, travel mug, umbrella, yard sign, clock, tablet, toy, Xbox game, chainsaw, climbing ropes, hand straps, auto parts, license plates, garage opener, camera, camera lenses, satellite radio, radio receiver, battery chargers, statue, cup.

Reasonable attempts have been made to contact the owners where applicable by U.S. Mail.

This is not an open call for the review of lost and found items by the general public. If you believe that you may have an item(s) in the custody of the Salt Lake City Police Department, please contact the Evidence Unit at (801) 799-3041.
