Recruit Class #133 Starts Thursday Morning
September 3, 2014In Memoriam: Officer Blaine L. Baxter
September 4, 2014SALT LAKE CITY — Chief Burbank and members of the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force for the Greater Salt Lake Area talked with reporters about violent crime numbers and causes in advance of a three-day conference to share case studies and best practices on the subject among 200-plus law enforcement professionals.
“Although nationwide we’re seeing a continued decline in violent crime, we are seeing spikes along the Wasatch Front, especially in bank robberies fueled in large part by a perpetrator’s heroin addiction,” according to Chief Burbank. “The conference this week will help to elevate investigative standards and connect dots, because violent crime is not confined to any one jurisdiction.”
This is the video from the Q&A recorded September 2, 2014. Burbank was joined by Det. Matt Evans and FBI Special Agent Adam Quirk.
