SALT LAKE CITY — The new Metro Support Bureau shares the results of its first 30 days of operation in a newsletter now available to the public.
Known as the Metro Support Times, the newsletter is a window into the workings of the bureau with primary responsibility for the area that runs from North Temple to 700 South, Interstate 15 to State Street. For example, from July 6 – August 2, 2014, Metro Support officers were responsible for 886 arrests, including:
- 493 misdemeanor citations
- 393 jail bookings
- 275 misdemeanor
- 493 felony charges
The publication also includes citations vs. bookings; the variety of booking charges; issues identified and actions taken; officer recognition; and profiles on officers tasked to the Homeless Outreach Services Team, aka HOST.
