SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department will welcome 18 new cadets to Explorer Troop #2471 at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, November 22.
The Salt Lake City Police Department opened the Explorer application process in August and 29 youth applied. After an extensive background and interview process, the department selected 18 recruits between the ages 14-20.
Reporters are invited to observe Saturday’s academy, which will include a program introduction, safety awareness, radio procedures, firearms safety, drill and ceremony guidance, and physical training.
