December 12, 2014SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department’s Evidence Unit has items which have been taken into custody that will be donated, destroyed or otherwise eliminated effective December 22, 2014. These items include the following:
Backpacks, luggage, bags, purses, wallets, bags, clothing, bedding, sleeping bags, credentials (social security cards, ID cards, driver licenses, credit and debit cards, passport, etc.), guns, knives, money, jewelry, cell phones with accessories, eye/sunglasses, computers with accessories, keys, hand and power tools, bikes, bike parts, scooters, miscellaneous papers (birth certificates, photos, letters, etc.) license plates, e-cigarette, cameras with accessories, car and home stereos, iPods, iPads, GPS systems, tablets, BB gun, air compressor, glass/stone, cassette recorder, books, pump, helmet, memory cards, handcart, miscellaneous sprinkler parts, walking stick, film, CDs/DVDs, cases, coin collections, binoculars, satellite receiver, foreign money, first aid kit, miscellaneous toiletries, metal, PS2, tent, car seat, guitar, mask, microscope, wig.
The police department has made reasonable attempts to contact property owners when applicable by U.S. Mail.
The Evidence Unit holds lost-and-found and abandoned items no more than 120 days, while property set for disposal from adjudicated cases is no more than 10 years old. If you have reason to believe that property mentioned above may be yours and you have documentation, identification or case numbers to assist in claiming it, please contact the Evidence Unit at (801) 799-3041.
