Help solve a murder nearly 29 years old….if you can

SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in identifying a white female, whose decomposing body was at found on September 3, 1986, floating in a canal east of a sewage treatment plant at 1850 North Redwood Road.  The State Medical Examiner’s Office determined the death to be suspicious.

The victim is believed to be a female white adult, 20 to 40 years old, about 115 lbs, and 5 feet 5 inches tall. Most importantly the victim possessed numerous distinctive clothing and jewelry items that we hope somebody will recognize.

• White long sleeve blouse with lace on the collar and cuffs
• Levis pants with no pockets
• Black Advanced brand wristwatch with a round face and off-white checker pattern with a design of a swimmer on the bottom
• Purple striped bracelet that unclips to a pen
• Sterling silver size 7 ½ ring with one large stone (possibly hematite) and two cubic zirconium stones on the sides, stamped with C&G and “Sterling” on the inside.
• Handmade blue polka dot dress with lace on the cuffs and collar also attached was a cardboard tag inside with the #10 written on it.

  

  It is hope that someone might recall a former employee, co-worker, neighbor or friend who could fit the description of the unidentified female and who simply dropped out of sight without notice in the last summer or fall of 1986.

  The assigned case agent along with victim’s clothing and other evidence will be available to the media on Monday December 21, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Police Department.
