November 7, 2016SALT LAKE CITY — On October 21, at 10:15 p.m. the victim, Christian Gutierrez-Marquez 33, was washing his car at the carwash located at 1075 S Redwood Road. An altercation took place between the victim and an unknown male resulting in the shooting death of the victim. His car was then stolen and later found at 3:18 a.m. on fire not far from the original scene at 1532 West High Avenue. It should be noted that an area resident had seen the victim’s vehicle as early as 1:00 a.m. at 1532 West High Avenue prior to it being set on fire.
Detectives are releasing the above three photos hoping to garner tips in this case. The suspect vehicle appears to be a white, four door vehicle, possibly driven by a white female. The white vehicle may have been stolen prior to the homicide. Detectives are asking the public if this matches your stolen vehicle or you recognize it to give us a call. The male suspect may have been wearing a gray or light colored hoodie, possible athletic or jogging pants, and shoes with reflective material. He may be a Hispanic male. He was also possibly wet from the altercation in the carwash.
