SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department will be holding its annual Back-to-School Police Pay it Forward event. Officers will have breakfast with children and they will receive school supplies. Officers will then take the children shopping to get new school clothes to start the school year.

7:45 a.m. – Officers check in
8:00 a.m. – Kids arrive, get paired with officer, eat breakfast
9:30 a.m. – Event ends

Visuals: Officers, kids meet over breakfast
Officers help kids shop for back-to-school clothing
Backpacks full of school supplies given to kids
Kids show parents what they’ve bought with officers
