Rape kit from 2006 leads to charges; SLCPD seeks second suspect

SALT LAKE CITY — Based on a call to the Sexual Assault Kit Information Line last year, one man is charged with three first-degree felonies in 12-year-old sexual assault case. The call initiated the process with the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) and SLCPD to identify, test, and investigate the case.

Detectives are currently following leads to verify the identity of the second suspect in the case that occurred in the Glendale area in 2006.

Detectives are currently following leads to verify the identity of the second suspect. The possible suspect vehicle is described as a red, two door, Honda with a black hood.  This occurred in the Glendale area in July of 2006.  Anyone with information on this case should contact SLCPD please refer to case # 06-117702.
