Salt Lake County, UT – South Salt Lake City, Update on Officer Involved Critical Incident of April 8, 2019.

Name of suspect: Harold Vincent Robinson age 37 of West Valley City.

Multiple officers from Salt Lake City Police, Utah Highway Patrol, and the Unified Police Department were involved in the OICI. All are on Administrative Leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

The investigation is still ongoing, being conducted by the Protocol Team led by West Valley City Police Department. There is currently no additional information.

The Officer Involved Critical Incident (OICI) protocol was invoked and thus the shooting is being investigated by the OICI team managed by the West Valley Police Department. This protocol is automatic whenever an officer is involved in a critical incident such as a shooting. The OICI teams in Salt Lake County consist of officers and experienced investigators from various participating agencies.

There are three teams: one managed by SLCPD, one by UPD, and one by WVCPD. The District Attorney also sends an investigator as part of the team.
