SLCPD Investigating Shooting, Community Assistance Requested
SALT LAKE CITY — A 25-year-old man is recovering after being shot while outside a home. This investigation started at 12:53 a.m. on Saturday August 27, 2022, when SLC911 received information about a shooting near 700 North and 900 West. Officers arrived and found the 25-year-old man with shooting-related injuries. Gold Cross transported the victim up to the hospital in stable condition. During the drive up to the hospital, the victim’s condition deteriorated to critical condition. At the hospital, medical staff rushed the victim into surgery. The victim is now in stable condition and is expected to survive. During the investigation, officers learned the victim was outside a home when a slow-moving car approached. Someone inside the car fired multiple rounds toward the victim. SLCPD patrol officers and detectives with the SLCPD’s Gang Unit located gunfire evidence to a house and parked car. The SLCPD Crime Lab responded to process and collect evidence. The motive to the shooting is under investigation. Currently, there is no suspect information to release.
