SLCPD Reminding Public of Silver Alert for Missing At-Risk Elderly Woman
SALT LAKE CITY — the Salt, Lake City Police Department is continuing to request the community’s assistance, locating a Missing and Endangered person after previously issuing a silver alert, which remains active.
On November 30, 2022, the Salt Lake City Police Department issued a Silver Alert for 65-year-old missing at-risk Tuyet Le, who has been missing since the morning of November 29, 2022.
The investigation started on November 29, 2022, at 9:40 p.m. when SLC911 received information from a family member of Le that she had been missing since that morning.
Officers spoke with the family member and learned that Le lives with a diminished mental capacity and memory loss.
It is reported Le left her residence around 10a.m. and headed to the University of Utah Library. Le’s family expected her to return at 4 p.m. but didn’t and has not been contacted since.
Le left her home with a phone but it has not been able to be tracked or found.
Officers searched areas Le is known to frequent, including the University of Utah Library and TRAX lines, but she has not been heard from and has not been found.
The Salt Lake City Police Department is requesting the public’s help with locating Le.
If Le is located, please call 911. Anyone with information about Le’s whereabouts should call SLC911 dispatchers at 801-799-3000.
A Silver Alert is activated when an elderly, developmentally, or cognitively impaired person disappears and is determined to be at-risk. Silver Alerts provide immediate information to the public to aid in the swift recovery of at-risk persons meeting the criteria.
The Silver Alert Notification System is a quick response system designed to issue and coordinate alerts following the report of a missing endangered adult (Utah Code 53-10-72). The system utilizes a similar coordination as the Amber Alert System but does not include activation for the National Emergency Broadcast System and limits the use of the Department of Transportation highway signage to the geographical area where the missing person was last seen.
