SLCPD Officers Arrest Two Men for Aggravated Robbery

SALT LAKE CITY — Recently, Salt Lake City Police Department patrol officers, along with officers assigned to the Central Division Bike Squad, arrested two men for an aggravated robbery.

This investigation began at approximately 2:40 p.m. on January 19, 2023, near 888 South 400 West when a man approached an officer and said he had been robbed at knifepoint.

During the investigation officers learned two men approached the victim, pulled out weapons, and demanded property. The men took the victim’s phone and left on foot. No one was injured.

Approximately two hours later, officers learned one of the suspects was near the original scene. Officers returned and located 20-year-old Landon Erevia in a truck. Officers safely arrested Erevia and transported him to the Salt Lake County Metro Jail where he was charged with aggravated robbery.

Officers learned the second suspect was 18-year-old Drew Atha. They found Atha was also the suspect in an aggravated assault that happened on January 12, 2023. The victim in this assault sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

At approximately 1:00 a.m. on Friday January 20, 2023, officers assigned to the Central Bike Squad found Atha near 200 South Pueblo Street. Officers safely arrested Atha after convincing him to exit a recreational vehicle.

Officers took Atha to the Salt Lake County Metro Jail and booked him on charges of aggravated robbery, as well as aggravated assault for the incident that occurred on January 12, 2023.

Charges are only allegations, and every arrested person is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

The Salt Lake City Police Department is not the custodian of record for jail booking photos. Utah Code 17-22-30 mostly prohibits the release of jail booking photos. Generally, a jail booking photo can only be released by the custodian of record after a conviction or when law enforcement determines the person is a fugitive or an imminent threat to a person or public safety. In Salt Lake City, the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office is the custodian of record for jail booking photos.
