SLCPD Investigating Vandalism along North Temple, Tips Sought

SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department is looking for help identifying the person responsible for vandalizing a business and several cars along North Temple Street.

This investigation started around 7 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023, when employees at the Utah Dog Park Airport, located at 1977 West North Temple, called SLC911 and reported someone spray painted their building.

In addition to the glass doors being spray painted, the suspect spray painted six cars parked to the east of the building.

Today, employees of the business spent much of the day removing the paint from the glass doors.

The motive is not known.

It appears the suspect replicated a no parking sign, with the letter “P” in a circle with a diagonal line going through the letter.

Officers checked the area but did not find the suspect.

It appears the suspect committed these crimes some time between 9-9:30 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2023.

At this point, it appears this was the only area vandalized in the neighborhood. However, if community members find additional vandalism in the area that matches the photos below, they should call 801-799-3000 and ask to speak with an officer.

Anyone with information about the suspect should also call 801-799-3000.

No further information on this case is being released. Neither the PIO nor the On-Duty Watch Commander are available for interviews.
