Body Recovered from Jordan River, SLCPD Detectives Investigating
SALT LAKE CITY — Detectives with the Salt Lake City Police Department’s Homicide Squad are conducting a death investigation after two golfers found a body in the Jordan River near the Rose Park Golf Course. Currently, there are no indicators of foul play. This investigation started at 9:10 a.m., on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, when SLC911 received information about a possible body in the Jordan River near 1386 North Redwood Road. Officers arrived on scene and learned that two golfers saw what appeared to be a body of an unidentified person. The Salt Lake City Fire Department’s Swift Water Rescue Team responded and recovered the body. Members of the SLCPD Homicide Squad and Crime Lab Unit responded to process the scene and collect evidence. The SLCPD Homicide Squad will work with the medical examiner’s office to confirm the name, age, cause of death and to notify next-of-kin.
