SLCPD Investigating Shooting in the Glendale Neighborhood, Two People Injured

SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department is investigating a shooting in the Glendale neighborhood that injured two people.

This investigation started at 1:07 a.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2024, when SLC911 received information about a shooting that had just occurred at 1210 West Illinois Avenue.

Officers got on scene and found a 40-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman shot.

Paramedics took both patients to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives with the Salt Lake City Police Department’s Gang Unit responded.

During their investigation, they determined the shooting to have a gang-nexus.

Based on the preliminary investigation, the shooting occurred shortly after a house party ended.

The specific motive to the shooting remains under investigation.

The suspect left the scene in a car.

No arrests have been made.
