SLCPD Investigating Two Deadly Shootings

SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) is investigating two deadly shootings.

At this point, there is no information to suggest that these two shootings are connected.

The first shooting investigation began at 11:40 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024, when SLC911 received information about a shooting that just occurred at 1045 East 2100 South. There are two confirmed patients associated with this incident:

·       One person killed,

·       One person with critical but stable injuries.

Based on the preliminary investigation, the circumstances of this shooting appear to be the result of an earlier fight involving several people. Officers do not believe there is any threat to our community associated to this incident and it appears all involved parties have been accounted for.

The second shooting investigation began at 12 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, when SLC911 received information about a shooting that just occurred near 800 South Park Street.  There is only one confirmed patient associated with this incident:

·       One person killed.

Based on the preliminary investigation, two people were outside when there was a shooting. The person shot collapsed and died on scene. The other person who was with the person killed went inside a residence and has not come out. His involvement to the shooting is unknown.

SLCPD homicide detectives are responding to both scenes.

Additional details will be released as they are confirmed.
