SLCPD Investigating Shooting in Glendale Neighborhood, Community Help Requested
SALT LAKE CITY — Today, the Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) is asking for our community’s help as officers and detectives investigate a shooting in the Glendale neighborhood.
This investigation started at 3:51 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025, when SLC911 received a call about a shooting that had just occurred near 1700 South Prospect Street.
Officers arrived and found a 38-year-old man with a gunshot wound. The officers provided lifesaving aid to the man before paramedics took him to the hospital.
Based on the preliminary investigation, officers believe the 38-year-old man got into an argument with several other people. The fight escalated into a shooting.
Before police arrived, the suspects took off.
The 38-year-old man is at a local hospital in serious but stable condition.
The injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The shooting appears to be an isolated incident.
At this time, there is no suspect information to provide.
