SLCPD Bike Squad Arrest Woman Accused of Suspected Drug Distribution, ‘Substantial’ Amounts of Drugs Seized
SALT LAKE CITY — Officers with the Salt Lake City Police Department’s (SLCPD) Bike Squad have safely arrested a woman accused of being in possession of “substantial” amounts of drugs. This investigation started at 12:14 pm on Thursday March 27, 2025, when officers working near 130 North 800 West, an area known for high crime and drug trafficking, watched multiple suspected drug transactions being conducted by a woman later Identified as 26-year-old Daphne McPeak. Officers detained Daphne finding her to have outstanding warrants. During the investigation, officers found a substantial amount of suspected cocaine, suspected fentanyl pills, suspected marijuana, and a large amount of cash, consistent with someone who is dealing illegal drugs, according to court documents. Officers booked McPeak into the Salt Lake County Metro jail for three counts of distribution of a controlled substance and her outstanding warrants. Charges are only allegations, and every arrested person is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. The Salt Lake City Police Department is not the custodian of record for jail booking photos. Utah Code 17-22-30 mostly prohibits the release of jail booking photos. Generally, a jail booking photo can only be released by the custodian of record after a conviction or when law enforcement determines the person is a fugitive or an imminent threat to a person or public safety. In Salt Lake City, the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office is the custodian of record for jail booking photos. The information contained in this news release is based on a preliminary review of the details available to the Salt Lake City Police Department. As the investigation progresses, information may change. ### |
