SLCPD Investigating Critical Injury Crash in Industrial Area of Glendale NeighborhoodSALT LAKE CITY — Officers and detectives with the Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) are investigating a crash that critically injured a woman in her 50s. This investigation started at 5:38 am Tuesday April 1, 2025, when SLC911 received a call about a crash and someone on the ground injured. Paramedics and firefighters with the Salt Lake City Fire Department took the woman to the hospital in critical condition. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The driver, who initially left the scene, called 9-1-1 and later returned to the scene. The driver is cooperating with detectives on scene. At this stage of the investigation, no arrests have been made and no citations issued. The Collision Analysis & Reconstruction (CAR) Team and SLCPD Crime Lab technicians responded to the scene. The Salt Lake City Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (CAR) Team is part of a regional task force that investigates serious crashes involving severe injuries or deaths in the Salt Lake Valley. SLCPD CAR detectives are specially trained in crash scene mapping, speed analysis, vehicle dynamics, and evidence collection. They manage cases from the scene through prosecution, working closely with other law enforcement agencies to ensure thorough, accurate investigations of the most serious collisions.
