SLCPD Investigating Deadly Crash in Poplar Grove NeighborhoodSALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) is investigating a deadly crash in the Poplar Grove neighborhood. This investigation began at approximately 7:16 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, when SLC911 received multiple calls about a crash at 900 West and 200 South. Officers from the SLCPD Pioneer Patrol Division, Salt Lake City Fire, and Gold Cross responded and found a crash involving three vehicles. One of the occupants died on scene. Paramedics took another person to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two other people were treated on scene. Due to the severity of the injuries, this crash will require an extended investigation. Officers are investigating one of the drivers for possible impairment. As a result, there are expected to be traffic delays in the area of 900 South and 200 West for the next several hours. There is no estimated time for when the road will reopen. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. A SLCPD Public Information Officer (PIO) is on scene. The media can meet the PIO at 940 West 200 South.
