SLCPD Announces New Community Meeting to Build Connections, Promote DialogueSALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) is inviting those who live, work, or visit Salt Lake City to attend our newly launched quarterly community meetings. These open meetings are designed to help build relationships, promote transparency, and create space for honest, respectful conversations. Beginning in 2020, SLCPD began hosting individual meetings with specific community groups. While that model proved successful early on, the SLCPD worked in partnership with the City’s Outreach and Engagement Team and others to develop a new approach with one meeting each quarter open to all members of our community. Our first community meeting will take place on:
This space has been reserved for future quarterly meetings on the first Wednesday. Each meeting will follow a consistent format:
Light refreshments will be provided. The goal of this new model is to reach residents we don’t typically interact with and to create a welcoming and safe space for anyone curious about the department’s work, priorities, and values. The first meeting will include an introduction to SLCPD Chief Brian Redd. If you have a specific topic you’d like covered in a future meeting, please email: SLCPDOutreach@slc.gov. Please share this invitation with your friends, neighbors, and coworkers. Media are encouraged to promote the event on-air, online, and on their public event calendars.
