SLCPD Investigating Deadly Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Crash in Liberty Wells
SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) is investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash involving a motorcyclist in the Liberty Wells neighborhood.
This investigation started at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2025, after SLC911 received reports of a crash near 2100 South and 400 East.
When officers arrived, they found a motorcyclist critically injured. Paramedics took the 67-year-old man to the hospital, where he later died. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The driver suspected of hitting the motorcyclist left the scene and did not stay to assist or speak with officers.
Preliminary information suggests the suspect driver ran a stop sign before colliding with the motorcyclist.

As part of a multi-jurisdictional task force, CAR detectives are specially trained in collision analysis, vehicle dynamics, speed calculations, and evidence collection.
