SLCPD Investigating Critical Injury Crash in Ballpark NeighborhoodSALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) is investigating a critical injury crash in the Ballpark neighborhood. This investigation began at approximately 6:50 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025, when SLC911 received multiple calls about a crash at 1300 South State Street. Officers from the SLCPD’s Liberty Patrol Division, Salt Lake City Fire Department, and Gold Cross responded and found a woman in her 30s on the ground with critical and potentially life-threatening injuries. Paramedics took the woman to a local hospital in critical condition. No other details are available for release at this time. Due to the severity of the injuries, this crash will require an extended investigation. Preliminary information suggests the truck involved was turning from State Street to 1300 South (east), and the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on State Street. However, the specific cause and circumstances of the crash are under investigation. As a result, there are expected to be traffic delays in the area of 1300 South State Street for the next several hours. Drivers are urged to use Main Street as a north and south detour and 1700 South or 900 South as a east and west detour. There is no estimated time for when the road will reopen. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. A SLCPD Public Information Officer (PIO) is on scene. The media can meet the PIO at the northeast corner of the intersection, parking in the bank’s parking lot. Please approach from westbound 1300 South.
