SLCPD Asking for Help Locating Missing Woman, Silver Alert Remains Active

SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) is continuing to ask for help locating 74-year-old Deborah Ring.

As a result of her disappearance, the SLCPD issued a Silver Alert and published her photo on its social media platforms.

Officers have now confirmed Ms. Ring’s last known location at 10:22 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at her residence at 1320 East 500 South.

Her family reported her missing at 7:24 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025.

Neighbors in her apartment complex initially told officers that they saw her on Friday morning.

However, officers reviewed surveillance footage and ruled out that information. Investigators have confirmed no one has seen Ms. Ring since Thursday morning.

Ms. Ring lives with Alzheimer’s and depends on daily medication for both Alzheimer’s and high blood pressure.

She frequently walks long distances, often several miles a day.

About two years ago, she disappeared and turned up near Ruth’s Diner in Emigration Canyon.

On Saturday, July 12, 2025, the Utah Department of Public Safety’s Aero Bureau searched that area by helicopter but did not see any signs of Ms. Ring.

Although investigators have found no signs of foul play, the heat, length of time, and Ms. Ring’s health conditions are creating an urgent concern.

Officers have searched churches, hospitals, restaurants, and businesses across Salt Lake City.

Additionally, the SLCPD has utilized all available technology and assets to help search for Ms. Ring, including SLCPD tracking K9s, drones, and bike officers.

Information about her disappearance has been shared with all law enforcement agencies across the Salt Lake Valley.

Detectives have been called in to assist with the investigation while patrol officers continue the search.

Anyone who sees Ms. Ring or knows where she might be should call 9-1-1 immediately.

Several additional photos are being released.

The information contained in this news release is based on a preliminary review of the details available to the Salt Lake City Police Department. As the investigation progresses, information may change.
