Posted: July 24, 2013 — The Salt Lake City Police Department will team up with the Smith’s Food & Drug Store in Poplar Grove Thursday evening for “Chill with a Cop” — a great way to cool off and talk with an officer about public safety issues.
From 5–7 p.m. Thursday, July 25, Smith’s Poplar Grove, 828 S. 900 W., will offer a free ice cream or cold soda to anyone who speaks with an officer. Community Intelligence Officers will be on hand to discuss crime trends and help people with public safety issues they may be experiencing.
“Chill with a Cop” is a community outreach effort supported by Salt Lake City, Local First Utah, the Downtown Alliance and Smith’s Food & Drug Stores.
