SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department will host a Candlelight Vigil to honor those whose lives have been impacted by crime.  Serving Victims. Building Trust. Restoring Hope.—underscores the importance of early intervention and victim services in establishing trust with victims, which in turn begins to restore their hope for healing and recovery. The Salt Lake City Police Department is committed to help inspire the community, raise awareness of victims’ rights, and address unmet needs.

The Candlelight Vigil will be held on Sunday, April 10^th for one hour, starting at 7:30 p.m.  The event will be held at the Salt Lake City Police Department on the plaza located at 475 S. 300 E. The event is open to the public and the media. We will be reading a proclamation from Governor Herbert, sharing words of comfort, and having a moment of silence to honor victims of crime.

The event is hosted by members of the Salt Lake City Police Department Explorers, Salt Lake City Police Department Victim Advocates, Utah Office for Victims of Crime, and The Third Judicial District Victims’ Rights Committee.
