SALT LAKE CITY — Officers with the Salt Lake City Police Department’s Pioneer Patrol Division have safely arrested a 39-year-old man who is accused of running from officers and being in unlawful possession of suspected fentanyl.
This investigation started at approximately 7:56 p.m. on February 15, 2025, when a SLCPD officer saw an SUV parked near a convenience store, located at 490 North Redwood Road.
The SUV matched the description of an SUV from an earlier case where the driver drove off during a traffic stop.
When officers saw the SUV parked at the convenience store, they walked up to the driver, who was still inside.
Officers ordered the man to get out.
When the man did so, he is accused of running from officers.
Officers chased after the man who tripped while running.
As the man fell, multiple suspected M30 fentanyl pills scattered to the ground. Officers safely arrested the driver.
During their investigation, officers searched the man’s SUV and found more suspected M30 fentanyl pills and drug paraphernalia.
During the investigation, the suspect is accused of providing false information to officers about his identity.
The suspect in this case is identified as 39-year-old Anthony Brickhouse.
Brickhouse is also accused of claiming to have swallowed several suspected M30 fentanyl pills. Paramedics took him to the hospital for observation.
Hospital staff monitored Brickhouse’s health for approximately three hours and Brickhouse showed no signs or symptoms of an overdose.

Officers booked Brickhouse into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, failure to stop at the command of police, providing false information belonging to a real person, interfering with police, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Charges are only allegations, and every arrested person is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
The Salt Lake City Police Department is not the custodian of record for jail booking photos. Utah Code 17-22-30 mostly prohibits the release of jail booking photos. Generally, a jail booking photo can only be released by the custodian of record after a conviction or when law enforcement determines whether the person is a fugitive or an imminent threat to a person or public safety. In Salt Lake City, the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office is the custodian of record for jail booking photos.
