If you require an officer to respond but it isn’t an emergency, call this number. The non-emergency phone number keeps our 911 phone lines open to help those who require an emergency response. You also may want to check out our online reporting options, which generally are good for cases that have no suspect information and no injuries but require a police report for insurance purposes.

The public is invited to attend a scheduled Scouting presentation and/or participate in a tour of the Public Safety Building the third Wednesday of each month. Classes will be held starting at 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. sharp.
There is a limit of 21 participants per class, including supervision of 1 adult per six children.
To request a tour, send an email to slcpdoutreach@slcgov.com with the following information:

If you are a caregiver for someone who may wander due to autism or another disability, please consider adding them to the Special Needs Registry by calling (801) 799-3111 or using the online form. Please provide the following information on each individual:
- Full name
- Address, including apartment number
- Date of birth
- Guardian’s name and phone number
- Any other pertinent information
You may only register individuals who live in Salt Lake City. The information will be entered into our database for use by emergency responders only.

If you are mailing your clearance letter request to us and are a resident of Salt Lake City, please include a photo copy of current, valid form of U.S. identification.
If you are mailing this from out of country but are a US citizen, please include a copy of your U.S. passport.

If you would like SLCPD to attend your community event, please send an email to slcpdoutreach@slcgov.com three weeks prior to your event with the following details:
- Full name

- Event details, including name of event, time, place and specifics of request.
Requests will be accommodated as resources and policy allow.
Anyone over 18 years old may request a ride-along. The Salt Lake City Police Department will try to honor your request, but the date and hours will be determined by the department. Each individual will be limited to one 4-hour ride-along which will begin no earlier than 7 a.m. and shall end no later than 1 a.m. Civilian or non-sworn ride-alongs with or without a concealed carry permit may NOT be armed.
